Technology as Art, Art as Technology
Visit the Interwoven exhibition in Chemnitz
What do the biblical couple Adam and Eve have in common with nanomaterials from CXI TUL? You’ll find them in Chemnitz. The shop window of Taupunkt Theatre has turned into an unconventional gallery, where technology and art meet face to face. Thanks to international collaboration within the InterBridge project, the mannequins of Eve and Adam have come to life here as symbols of the fusion between science, creativity, and the future.

Mutual Inspiration: Science and Design
The exhibition Interwoven: Science – Art – Future is the result of cross-border cooperation between Technical University of Liberec (TUL), Technical University of Chemnitz (TUC) and other partners. The outcome is not only aesthetically striking but also technologically fascinating:
- Eve wears a dress made of recycled plastic, silk and gold. Her veil is dyed using gold nanoparticles developed in the CXI TUL laboratories.
- Adam is dressed in a futuristic outfit made from composites, laminates, basalt-reinforced polyamide and aluminium – materials commonly used in the automotive and aerospace industries.
The project involved students from the Christian-Weise-Gymnasium in Zittau, elementary school pupils from Liberec and Nový Bor, textile design students from TUL and experts from the Merge Institute at TUC.

When Research Speaks Through Art
"We wanted to show that technical materials and production processes are not just the domain of industry, but can also form the basis for new forms of artistic expression,"
says Mgr. Ing. Bc. Hana Křížová, Ph.D. from CXI TUL, head of the InterBridge project.
At CXI TUL, we combine technological precision with a creative approach, because we believe that the most compelling innovations arise at the intersection of disciplines. The InterBridge project is proof that interdisciplinary cooperation has the power to engage audiences beyond laboratories and research centres.
Where and When?
The exhibition is on display until 15 July in the shop window of Taupunkt Theatre (OFF-Bühne Komplex), located at Zietenstraße 32, Chemnitz. The window gallery is accessible 24/7.
Come see for yourself what the future looks like when it wears science.
