Autonomous vehicle ANTETUL captivates the public during AI Days 2025
11. 11. 2025
The robotic vehicle ANTETUL from the Technical University of Liberec was presented to the public during AI Days 2025. At the event, which took place at the Technical Museum of Liberec, interested parties were able to see the vehicle up close, watch driving demonstrations and listen to a discussion about the development and testing of autonomous systems.
A platform with enormous potential
ANTETUL is a modular robotic platform that can transport cargo, power other systems and in the future can operate completely autonomously. It was developed by a team led by Michal Petrů from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of TUL as a pre-application project without an industrial assignment. Experts from CXI TUL, specifically in the field of drive development and artificial intelligence, also participated in the development.
“We solved everything modularly so that we could connect with partners who have a clear application. This means, for example, that they want to innovate their vehicle or create a completely new one,” explains Josef Břoušek, who was in charge of drives and control.
ANTETUL is already attracting interest from companies and cities that see potential in it for agriculture, forestry, defense and industrial logistics.
“At the event, we wanted to show that artificial intelligence is no longer just an abstract concept from the laboratory. We have algorithms that learn to perceive their surroundings, make decisions and optimize their behavior in the real world. Such technologies are the basis for future autonomous transport and smart industrial systems,” says Jakub Zach from the Department of Process Modeling and Artificial Intelligence.
Ready for the era of autonomy
While today the vehicle is controlled by a person, the system is already ready for the transition to autonomous control by algorithms, which can be used, for example, in industrial areas. The control system can use not only route data, but also evaluate the speed in curves and optimize the drive performance to ensure maximum efficiency and energy savings.
About the event
The Technical University of Liberec participated in the AI Days 2025 with the aim of bringing research in the field of autonomous systems and artificial intelligence to the public.
The event took place in the indoor environment of the pavilion, Technical Museum Liberec, on November 6, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
