Project:
Grenzüberschreitende Entwicklung lichtbetriebener Technologie zur effizienten Entfernung von CECs
Registration number:100781093
Realization period:01.01. 2026 – 31.12. 2028
Leader at TUL:Ing. Mgr. Lukáš Dvořák, Ph.D.
The #CURE project has two main objectives:
(i) to strengthen transboundary research excellence through close and systematic collaboration based on the use of TUL and IPF expertise in the development of innovative wastewater treatment technology.
(ii) to develop and verify an innovative energy-efficient solar-powered wastewater treatment technology (pilot plant) of approximately 300-500 litres, based on a combination of cross-linked polymeric highly porous materials with high sorption capacity enriched with bismuth-based photocatalytic nanoparticles, which have a strong photocatalytic effect due to the production of reactive oxygen species under visible light. This innovative principle, which will be applied in the technology under development, will ensure the desired removal efficiency of selected CECs from real municipal wastewater, namely carbamazepine, diclofenac and BPA (selected CECs) will be removed with at least 80% efficiency. To this end, the developed technology (in the form of a fully functional pilot plant) will be validated and optimised at a selected municipal WWTP, i.e. under realistic operating conditions.
