The “AIFES - Automated Intelligent Flight Evaluation System” project develops a robust cloud-based platform for collecting, analyzing and evaluating flight data of ultralight aircraft using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). The system automatically processes telemetry data (e.g. engine speed, airspeed, aerodynamic loads) from avionics such as Garmin G3X and Kanardia AETOS, and provides personalized feedback to pilots, trainers and aircraft owners. The main outputs are a 10-15% reduction in fuel consumption by optimizing operations, extending aircraft life by predicting wear and tear, and improving pilot training by identifying anomalies and errors in real time. The platform is designed to be a modular and scalable solution that brings innovation to the ultralight aircraft segment where similar technologies have been lacking. The expected economic impact is an increase in the applicant's turnover by EUR 24,5 million. The project also reduces CO2 emissions by 145,000-173,000 tonnes when deployed on 2,000 aircraft.
