Project:
Development and application of a filtration-sorption solution for individual water treatment.
Registration number:CZ.01.01.01/01/24_063/0006907
Realization period:01.10. 2025 – 30.06. 2028
Leader at TUL:Ing. Karel Havlíček, Ph.D.
The aim of the proposed project is to use research and development to achieve a solution for personalized/individual water treatment and to further convert this solution into an application/product form. Specifically, the aim is to develop a filtration-sorption agent for water treatment that can be applied to existing personal use products – domestic water jugs, Stanley cups, travel filters, and possibly others. The agent, combining nanofibers with suitable sorbents, will enable the effective capture of microparticles, and especially dangerous micropollutants in water, using a filtration-sorption mechanism. The project includes several key phases, starting with research and development of materials and mechanisms, through to their testing and optimization for commercial production. The goal is to create a solution that is fully tested and functional, which is why an important part of the project will also be testing the impact of various micropollutants and the materials used on human health. The main result of the project will be both a specific product (a filtration-sorption system for individual water treatment) and in-depth knowledge in the field of assessing the toxicity of treated water and the materials used.
